LOL I think this is your confirmation bias justifying your tendency to be contrary. ;)

Just kidding. This is interesting because after meetings, people have apologized to me when feedback has been particularly harsh. And I have to explain that it's not a bad thing, that I don't expect to always get it right the first time, and furthermore, I'm glad when feedback is harsh because it forces me to try harder.

I think what we don't realize is that fostering a culture that encourages experimentation and collaboration means we need to be more comfortable with criticism.

We need to acknowledge the fact that we won't grow creatively by just patting each other on the back and not judging our work as critically as our audience will most certainly do. Or ask ourselves if the work doesn't inspire a reaction internally, how can we expect it to move people externally?
