Its hilariously inevitable that those who fear and misunderstand social and technological progress will crow from the highest perch about it.
As a kid I remember the universal derision leveled at early mobile/cell phones. Admittedly class issues were involved, as only the wealthy could afford them at the time. But there was a clear resistance to such an obvious convenience, with gripes like call costs and unreliable signal covering for a fear of change.
